Hershey Beach, 10 Mile Road Galveston Texas

There is not fee to enter or fish at this access.

Open 24 hours, Beach Access # 10

This is a saltwater destination. Gulf of Mexico

Directions: From the intersection of 61 Street and Seawall Blvd, FM 3005 travel west 5.8 miles and turn left. There is a large paved parking area here.

This access gives you direct access with your vehicle to the beach and surf fishing. There are no amenities available here. This spot is ADA accessible. 

# 130 Mary Jo Peckham Park Katy Texas

There is no fee to enter or fish in this park.

The park is open from 7am to 10pm daily.

This is a freshwater fishing location. Freshwater Lake Stocked.

Directions: From Hwy 90 in Katy take Ave D 1.3 miles north, The park turn will be on your right. Continue .2 miles and turn left to get to the lake.

This 5 acre lake is a popular fishing spot, with plenty of bank fishing and a nice covered pier. There is no fee to use this park. No swimming or wading is not allowed. This park is part of the Neighborhood Fishin Program and is stocked with catfish every two weeks. Stocking starts in April and continues through November. Mature catfish are stocked every two weeks. This program is to encourage fishing! These fish are managed as “put and take”. Meaning these fish are big enough to catch and keep as soon as they are stocked. Go get some!

This lake is also part of the TPWD trout stocking program. 

Trout are stocked several times each fall, be sure and check for the dates on the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site. It was stocked eight different times in late 2014 and early 2015. Trout fishing should be very good! The fishing will be GOOD! There should be a plenty of fish available whenever you get ready to fish,

Other activities available include a playground for all children, walking trails, miniature golf, indoor pool, restrooms and community center.

# 129 Eldridge Park South West Houston

Many of the parks I cover here have lots more to do than just fishing! I hope you will visit some of my suggestions soon.

There is no fee to enter or fish this park

Open from 7am to 10 pm daily

This is a freshwater fishing location, Freshwater Lake Stocked

Directions:   From I-10, take Highway 6 south to Sugar Land and turn left on 90A. Go 1.9 miles and turn left on Eldridge Road. Park is on left, about 2 miles down.

This 43-acre well maintained park is located on Eldridge Road   The 5 acre pond was stocked with catfish in 2012, 2013, 2014. The day I was there the city was stocking 3-5/lb catfish for an upcoming kid fish weekend. The fishing pier was clean and well maintained and there is plenty of room for bank fishing

  This park also includes a community meeting room, picnic pavilion, restrooms, grills, benches, picnic tables, walking trails, concession stand, playground, soccer fields, and plenty of paved parking.

# 128 Summer Sports

I know this is what you must think I have been doing the past few weeks, well I am here to let you know that maybe just a little of this but a lot more work too!

This will be a combination of places that you can bank fish and or kayak around Houston. I will provide detailed information and directions on spots that you can fish close to home. A lot of these spots have been stocked for many years and the fishing should be very good!

I have fished most of my life and expect that will continue for many years to come. So come along for the ride on a new adventure!
