Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 6 and Glenn Lakes Ln travel north on Glenn Lakes 2.4 miles and you will dead end into the park. Glenn Lakes Ln goes through a subdivision, so be careful. It is worth the drive!


This 107 acre park is accented with a 3 acre freshwater fishing lake. The lake features one floating pier and one permanent pier. This lake is one of two lakes in the Houston area that is part of the Neighborhood fishin Program. Mature catfish are stocked every two weeks throughout the summer and early fall. This program is to encourage fishing! These fish are managed as “put and take”. Meaning these fish are big enough to catch and keep as soon as they are stocked. There should be a good supply of fish whenever you get ready to fish. This lake is also part of the TPWD rainbow trout stocking program. Trout are stocked several times each fall, so be sure and check for the dates on the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site. It was stocked eight different times in late 2014 and early 2015. Catfish and Trout fishing should be very good!

Directions: From the city of Alvin travel north 4 miles on Hwy 35. Turn west (left) on CR 281 and travel .2 miles to the park entrance, on the left.


This 4 acre freshwater fishing lake is part of the 80 acre park. The lake has 3 fishing piers and many other bank fishing spots available. The lake has been stocked with catfish nearly every year since 1996. This lake is also part of the TPWD trout stocking program. Trout are stocked several times each fall, be sure and check for the dates on the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site. Resoft park also features covered pavilions, barbeque pits, a large multi-stage playground, soccer fields, horseshoes, basketball courts, volleyball, walking and jogging trails, plenty of paved parking, and restroom facilities.

Directions: From the intersection of 61 St and Seawall FM 3005.You are there.



This pier has rod rentals. A store with bait and all the supplies you need is also available. There is a short jetty before you get to the pier that is free to fish from.

Directions: From the intersection of 61 Street and Seawall Blvd, FM 3005 travel west 5.8 miles and turn left. There is a large paved parking area here.


This access gives you direct access with your vehicle to the beach and surf fishing. There are no amenities available here. This spot is ADA accessible.

Directions: From the intersection of 61 St and Seawall Blvd, FM 3005, travel west 2.8 miles. The parking lot will be on your left.


This location offers fishing from the rock structure at the end of the seawall. This is a steep drop  off and you should use caution. There is plenty of paved parking available here but no amenities.

Directions: Camp Mohawk County Park is located on SH 35, 7.2 miles south of the intersection of Hwy 6 and Hwy 35. Turn right on Mohawk Dr.  just south of Chocolate Bayou bridge.

This 53 acre wooded park has two sections one for day use and one for overnight guests. There is a 3 acre freshwater lake available for day use fishing. The back section of the park is for overnight use and has access to chocolate bayou. Other amenities here include a playground, swimming pool, walking trails and overnight pavilions. Tent camping sites are also available. Plenty of paved parking and restrooms are available throughout the park.

This would be considered a freshwater fishing destination.



Directions: From the intersection of I 45 and FM 518 travel east on 518 1.9 miles to N Wisconsin Ave. and turn left on Coryell. Continue .1 miles to Landrum St and turn left. The park will be .1 miles on your left.

This park features a very nice backwater lake off of Clear Creek with a pier that you can fish from. There are also small docks on either side of the kayak launch. The park also features a playground, hike/bike trails, picnic area and restrooms.

#136 Challenger 7 Park

The park is open from 7 am to 9 pm
This site would be considered freshwater fishing. Two sites available Community Lake and Clear Creek.


Directions: From the intersection of I 45 and FM 528 travel east on FM 528 .5 miles to W Nasa Parkway and turn left. Continue .8 miles to the park entrance on your left.

The community lake in this park has been stocked with catfish almost every year since 2001. Bass and bluegill have also been stocked here in the past. Plenty of bank fishing is available with picnic tables strategically placed around the lake. Bank fishing is also available in the back of the park along clear creek..which is not to clear. There is a fish consumption warning for this body of water. There is a bulkhead and small pier that you could fish from.

There are approximately 100 acres of this park that have been sanctioned by the Audubon Society and designated as a bird sanctuary. The Nature Trails allow you to access the Bird Sanctuary and other undeveloped areas of the park.
There are three elevated observation platforms that are connected to the boardwalk, allowing for viewing of the wetlands along Clear Creek. Playgrounds and restrooms are also available.

Directions: From the intersection of Sam Houston Parkway (Beltway 8) south and Fondren Rd, travel south on Fondren .4 miles to Buffalo Run. Turn right on Buffalo Run and continue, 6 miles to the main entrance of the park. There is also a small parking area at the pier and observation tower as soon as you turn on Buffalo Run it will be on your right.
This 47 acre four lake complex  is part of the 95 acre park on the south side of Houston. The park features three piers but has limited bank fishing. It has been stocked with catfish in 2102, 2013, and 2014. This lake also has a boat launching ramp and is a favorite kayak spot. All the lakes are connected and accessible by boat.


Other activities in the park include almost 2 miles of hike and bike trails, playgrounds and benches, fish cleaning stations, and great bird watching opportunities. Plenty of paved parking is available throughout the park.

# 134 Texas City Dike

There are fees charged at certain times of the year to enter and fish on the dike. The fee schedule is below. This is a saltwater fishing location.





Directions: From the intersection of I-45 south and FM 1764 continue east 9 miles. You will dead end. Turn right .1 and then left to the dike.


The Texas City Dike is a man made levee located in Texas City, TX that goes nearly 5 miles into the mouth of Galveston Bay.  There are several piers and bank fishing available on both sides of the road rock jetties. Wade fishing and kayaking are both popular off the dike.

 During the summer months (first weekend in March to last weekend in October) there is a $5 charge per vehicle to enter the dike on weekends. It is free during the winter months and summer weekdays (Mondays through Thursdays — unless they are holidays). On holiday weekends (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Fourth of July and Saturday, Sunday and Monday on Memorial Day and Labor Day) the fee will be $10 per vehicle per day.
Currently has several boat ramps they are some of the busiest boat ramps on Galveston Bay.
The dike has 10 picnic shelters, 200 trash receptacles, 26 portable toilets, asphalt and crushed gravel parking areas, roughly three-quarter miles of beaches, potable water to two fish cleaning tables, and 48 solar street and boat ramp lights.

The dike is roughly 5.3 miles long with an asphalt road. There are wide shoulders on either side of improved crushed gravel.
 This dike has been advertised as the longest man-made pier.

Directions: In Texas City and from the intersection of FM 1764 and Bay Street, turn left, and continue 2.1 miles to the intersection of Skyline Dr and turn left. Continue 2.6 miles and the road will dead end at the tidal gate to Moses Lake.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work is a lie, two bad days fishing are better than one good day at work.


There is bank fishing available along the entire 2.6 miles of this part of Skyline Dr. You are able to just park and walk down a short bank to the water. The area around the tidal gate will give you access to the water movement in and out of Moses lake. There are no amenities at this location

# 132 Sugarland Memorial Park

Directions: From the intersection of US 59 south and University Blvd, travel east on University 1.4 miles to the park entrance on your right.

The 25 acre freshwater lake is stocked with Florida Large Mouth Bass, Bluegill and Catfish. Visitors may fish in the lake with a valid fishing license. Consult your local tackle shop or Texas Parks and wildlife, for license information and bag and size limits. Plenty of bank fishing is available. This 420 acre park is part of an overall plan of a 1200 acre park. Other activities in this park include, two and a half miles of 8-foot wide granite gravel walking/jogging/biking trails, 2 picnic pavilions, restroom buildings, parking areas, playground, dog park, mountain bike trail, and open space for sports activities.

# 131 Burroughs Park Tomball

Directions:
From the intersection of FM 2920 and FM 2978 east of Tomball travel north 1.7 miles to Hufsmith Rd. and turn right. Continue east 1.2 miles and turn left into the park. Continue through the park to the north end to find the lake.

This 320 acre park in Tomball has a 7 acre fishing lake that was stocked with catfish in 2013, and 2014. There is plenty of bank fishing, a pier, and an island with a walkway to it. It is also part of the TPWD trout stocking program in 2015. Check the Texas Parks and Wildlife website for next years stocking dates. No swimming, wading or boating is allowed in this lake.

The park also includes 5 playgrounds, nature trails picnic area, a dog park and restroom facilities.

Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 90 and loop 227 in Liberty, travel north on loop 227 for 1.7 miles to Cook Rd. Turn left on Cook Rd and continue .4 miles to the park entrance. The pond is near the back of the park behind the ball fields.

This three acre freshwater community fishing lake has been stocked with catfish nearly every year since 2000. There is plenty of bank fishing available with several picnic tables close to the water. There is a walking trail that surrounds the entire park. Other activities include a fenced playground, splash pad, basketball pavilion and restroom facilities

There are also baseball, soccer and plenty of open fields available.


Looks like a great place to relax.

# 134 Theis Attaway Nature Center Tomball

Directions: From business 249 and Theis Ln go west in Theis.1 miles and the park is on your left. It is across the street from where walmart’s building ends

This 4 acre park has a one acre pond that was created in the 1950’s when iron ore was removed to build what is now Hwy 249. The pond and surrounding park is a wildlife sanctuary for bird, small animals and fish. The pond has a small pier you can fish from or just observe the birds and other wildlife from the observation blind overlooking the water. This pond was stocked with catfish in the year 2000 There is lots of aquatic vegetation for you to contend with while fishing. Other amenities include a small amphitheater, walking trails and very nice restroom facilities.

Directions: From the intersection of FM 529 and Katy Hockley Cut Off travel north on Katy Hockley Cut off 2 miles and the park will be on your left. There are entrances off Katy Hockley and Katy Hockley Cut Off roads.

This 232 acre park has a chain of lakes along the south side of the park. No fees charged to fish here. There is very limited bank fishing but two bridges along the trail offer a good place to fish from. There was a lot of aquatic vegetation in the lakes when I was here. There are several piers but they are used for bird observation and not set up for fishing.

Other activities at this park include, softball and little league fields, dog park, nature trail picnic area and restroom facilities.
